Each year we organise a 22 mile hike covering: Crickley, Leckhampton and Cleeve Hills. We're searching for volunteers to be posted at our checkpoints.Detailed description
For the last five years, we’ve organised a 22 mile walk, which provides you with the opportunity to take part in an exhausting but exhilarating adventure through Gloucestershire’s most picturesque landscapes whilst tackling the three tallest peaks in the county; Crickley, Leckhampton and Cleeve hill! This event raises vital funds for our charity, and provides us with the opportunity to met new people and share our charity story with you all.
In 2023 this event took place on Saturday 10th June, with 233 walkers joining us come rain and shine raising an incredible £ 11,695.90. This year, Cheltenham’s Three Peaks Challenge returns on Saturday 8th June 2024.
We are searching for volunteers to act as event stewards, posted at each of our checkpoints, checking off walkers as they pass, providing water and motivation.
The checkpoints that need covering are:
- Cleeve Hill Radio Masts Car Park (Cleeve Hill, Southam, Cheltenham, GL54 4EU) - from 7:30 - final walker has passed (estimated midday)
- Koloshi Car Park (London Road, Charlton Kings, Cheltenham, GL54 4HG) - from 8:30 - final walker has passed (estimated 1pm)
- Leckhampton Hartley Lane (Shurdington, Cheltenham, GL539QJ) - 9am - final walker had passed (estimated 2 pm)
- Crickley Hill Coach Park (Crickley Hill, Birdlip, Goucester, GL4 8JY) - 10am - final walker has passed (estimated 3pm)
We also require a 'runner' volunteer who has a full UK driving license and a car so that is needs be they can check route markers are in correct positions and visible.
