Andoversford Primary School is looking for 2 new Governors to join our Board. We are a small village school on the outskirts of Cheltenham.Detailed description
Andoversford Primary School is looking for 1 new Partnership and 1 new Co-opted Governor to join their Governing Board with the potential to take on the role of Chair.
The Governing Board is responsible for the school's strategic direction, including setting aims for the school and agreeing policies, plans and targets for improvements to match these aims.
The Governing Board Supports, monitors and evaluates the school's performance and holds the Headteacher to account for the performance of the school. The Governing Board also determines how to spend the budget allocated to the school.
We are looking for a Governor who:
- is enthusiastic, willing to learn and a good team player
- has a questioning mind and can analyse basic data (full training will be provided)
- can give around 5-8 hours of their time per month (term time only)
Our Full Governing Body meetings usually take place 11 times a year in the after at Andoversford Primary School or online and last around 90 minutes. In addition to this Governors are expected to set time aside to prepare for meetings, undertake regular monitoring visits and training. The term of office for a Governor is usually 4 years.

Learning doesn't only happen in the classroom! Our central philosophy is to support pupils to make decisions, manage risks and take responsibility for themselves. In essence, we aim to make sure that children are well-prepared for the next phase of their education, but more importantly, that they are well-prepared for life!
