Bars in the Park is a one-day celebration of culture, creativity, and community empowerment in Gloucester, led by CHISPA CIC and Kings Jam Festival. Launching on 12th October 2024, this event marks the culmination of four years of work and features two major highlights: the long-awaited Multipurpose Bar Park and the return of Kings Jam Festival. Taking place at Bakers Field, Gloucester Park (next to the Skate Park) from 10am to 10pm, the event will showcase performances, workshops and a freestyle Jam from both local and international talent. Bars in the Park aims to empower young people and artists while transforming public spaces into vibrant cultural hubs for the community.
Volunteer Roles:
We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to help make this event a success. As a volunteer, you will:
- Set up: Help the team set up the event, make sure everything is in place for the arrival of the participants and audiences
- Steward the Event: Help signpost people to different areas and workshops, control crowds and ensure everyone’s safety.
- Coordinate with and support the CHISPA and Kings Jam teams: Make sure all activities are running smoothly and team members have the support they need
- Support with monitoring and evaluation: collecting data on who is attending, their feedback and any issues that come up

You will also have the opportunity to experience different forms of movement and potentially get involved in future youth programs and events with Chispa and Music Works.
