Summary

We he have opportunities for Platform Porters at Norchard Station to inform, help & guide the public.

Detailed description

This role includes walking on the flat and steps at Norchard Railway Station.

Passengers often look towards Porters for help, information and guidance on the Railway.

This is your opportunity to meet many new people in your role and to be useful to them by being there and willing to assist passengers at the Railway Station.

This role includes helping people on and off of the trains and helping deploy the disabled ramp and safety cones located on the trains.

This is a great role as your introduction to the Railway and your railway journey with Dean Forest Railway.

As you can get very close to working steam engines, the track and rolling stock - safety for yourself and your passengers must be in the forefront of your mind.

Passenger's Dogs may also figure in the Porter role.

Porters can go home at the end of the day knowing that other people are happy and that they are pleased to have met you.

Working Members of the Dean Forest Railway Society run The Railway and enjoy several benefits such as free travel on The DFR, free tea and coffee through the day from The Whistles Café.

Free travel is available from many other Heritage Railways, also discount at our DFR Shops.

The Whistles Café offers food etc at discounted prices and The Railway offers a free copy of the DFR Society's colourful quarterly magazine.

Getting there

The post code is GL15 4ET and the 23 Bus stops right outside the staff entrance.
