Summary

The Signalman's or Signalwoman has one of the most demanding roles on any Railway.

Detailed description

The Signalperson's role is critical to the smooth, safe and mission critical running of any The Railway.

Dean Forest Railway has three active signal boxes currently and each needs a fully trained person when trains are running.

Extra and progressive training is available for this excellent and well respected role.

This role is particularly satisfying as the whole smooth running of the trains are literally in your hands.

Working Members of the Dean Forest Railway Society run The Railway and enjoy several benefits such as free travel on The DFR, free tea and coffee through the day from The Whistles Café.

Free travel is available from many other Heritage Railways, also discount at our DFR Shops.

The Whistles Café offers food etc at discounted prices and The Railway offers a free copy of the DFR Society's colourful quarterly magazine.
