Summary
To help co-ordinate 'Gardening for Wellbeing' sessions, by being a group leader for small groups of supported volunteers, on Wednesdays 10.30-12.Detailed description
We are looking for lead volunteers to help supported volunteers whose tasks include weeding, planting and tidying green areas around the Cathedral grounds. You would liaise with staff members as a point of contact during sessions, whilst nurturing and encouraging group members to learn new skills.
Volunteers would need to be interested in helping and talking to people, spending time outdoors, (some horticultural interest preferable), with an understanding and patient approach to supporting others.

🤝 Extra supportAbout Gloucester Cathedral
Gloucester Cathedral welcomes visitors and pilgrims from all over the world, and this is made possible with the help of our volunteers in a wide variety of ways. The Cathedral is open 365 days a year and was founded over 1000 years ago as a Benedictine Abbey, which we continue to reflect in our hospitality to all.
The 21st century Cathedral aspires to reach out to as many people in our community as possible, and by volunteering you are continuing a long tradition of an open door to all, of welcome and awe.
Volunteers engage in roles as diverse as a front of house friendly face on the Visitor Information Point and Wellwisher area, shop assistant or tower tour guide, to keeping the monuments looking beautiful and helping, vulnerable partners to volunteer and feeding the homeless. Gloucester Cathedral is part of the Church of England but we welcome people regardless of faith, gender or background.
