Summary
Education volunteers help with school visits during term time and family activities during the school holidays.Detailed description
We have recently reviewed the role of our education team, and are looking to expand our pool of volunteers to reflect this.
during term time, the role focuses on visiting school groups whilst during the holidays we offer crafts activities and trails.
Activities include leading tours for school groups, stewarding, help make craft resources behind the scenes and helping with craft activities. Volunteers need to be able to confidently and independently interact with children and adults.
The majority of roles occur during school hours (9.45-2.45).

🤝 Extra supportAbout Gloucester Cathedral
Gloucester Cathedral welcomes visitors and pilgrims from all over the world, and this is made possible with the help of our volunteers in a wide variety of ways. The Cathedral is open 365 days a year and was founded over 1000 years ago as a Benedictine Abbey, which we continue to reflect in our hospitality to all.
The 21st century Cathedral aspires to reach out to as many people in our community as possible, and by volunteering you are continuing a long tradition of an open door to all, of welcome and awe.
Volunteers engage in roles as diverse as a front of house friendly face on the Visitor Information Point and Wellwisher area, shop assistant or tower tour guide, to keeping the monuments looking beautiful and helping, vulnerable partners to volunteer and feeding the homeless. Gloucester Cathedral is part of the Church of England but we welcome people regardless of faith, gender or background.
