Volunteer Vacancy: Community Volunteer at Gloucestershire Carers Hub
What You Will Do
Reaching out for help can be a daunting challenge for many carers. Some may take years or even decades to find the support they need. While caring for others, it’s often difficult for them to prioritise their own health and well-being; many feel misunderstood and unsure of where to seek assistance. We often witness local heroes stepping up to support vulnerable individuals in their communities, and we aim to ensure that this essential lifeline remains available for Carers.
As a Community Volunteer, you will play a vital role in engaging, educating, and motivating local members and residents, including various groups, organisations, and clubs. Your efforts will help ensure that Carers do not feel isolated. You will explore what makes your local community thrive and actively seek opportunities to connect with residents, raising awareness about unpaid Carers and enhancing access to support for Carers. You will have the opportunity to attend events along with staff such as hospital open days, The big health day, visit various organisations and much more.
