Are you passionate about a particular craft or have expertise in a subject that could have a positive impact on Carers? We are seeking volunteers who can share their skills, knowledge, and passion with Carers online. Whether you have a craft you'd like to teach or a specialty subject that could benefit Carers, we want to hear from you. This could involve leading a single session or offering ongoing support through multiple sessions.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Carers Hub team to discuss your craft or subject expertise and how it can be beneficial for Carers.
- Plan and design engaging sessions that are suitable for Carers of varying skill levels and interests.
- Provide clear instructions, demonstrations, and guidance during the sessions.
- Create a positive and inclusive environment where Carers feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their experiences.
- Tailor the sessions to accommodate different abilities and preferences, ensuring that all participants can learn and engage.
- Share practical tips, techniques, and knowledge related to your craft or subject.
- Encourage Carers to explore their creativity, learn new skills, and find joy in the process.
- Foster a sense of community and support among the Carers participating in the sessions.
- Gather feedback from Carers to continuously improve and adapt the sessions.
Qualifications:
- Passion for your craft or subject and a desire to share it with others.
- Experience in teaching or leading sessions related to your craft or subject is preferred but not essential.
- Excellent communication and instructional abilities.
- Ability to adapt your craft or subject to different skill levels and abilities.
- Patience and empathy towards Carers facing caregiving challenges.
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to commit to the agreed-upon schedule.
- Comfortable using online meeting platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
- Ability to provide guidance and support remotely.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
