Talking about technology and offering demonstrations at online and face to face meetings or 1-2-1 sessions
Answering questions from carers about IT

Detailed description

Ability to support carers with IT issues such as setting up an email, downloading an app through to more advanced issues such as using Microsoft word. The role can be split for those who are not as confident at troubleshooting IT issues but could deliver a good basic knowledge for new users.

The ideal person for this role:  

  • Clear spoken communication skills and good people skills 
  • Good IT and Technology Knowledge 
  • Able to demonstrate and answer questions  
  • Empathy and compassion for others  
  • Confidence in communicating in person 
  • Pleasant and welcoming manner 
  • Be comfortable volunteering within a group or by yourself 
  • Being able to use your own initiative but be able to ask for help when you need it 
  • Good timekeeping skills 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
