Summary

Geotagging photos of Gloucestershire to Know Your Place. This is a great opportunity to learn digital and heritage skills while working from home

Detailed description

This pilot project is aimed at making archive collections accessible to the public through the Know Your Place Gloucestershire platform. If you are unfamiliar with this website, it is a fantastic resource, that layers historic maps of the county on top of each other, allowing for seamless comparison.

There are also information layers, which consist of heritage collections geotagged to their relevant location on the map. This is where you will be working, to create a new image layer of photographs depicting the county during the COVID lockdowns.

You will be provided with an image set, an accompanying spreadsheet, full written instruction and support by email / phone whenever required.

Its a great opportunity to learn and improve digital skills and work with spreadsheets and digital photographs. Its a fascinating collection, which really reminds us of the community spirit that was so prevalent during the pandemic.
