Summary

Help us provide a warm welcome and to support our community make the most of our centre and activities.

Detailed description

Our centre based Enablement Services offers a daily programme of activities that support people with an acquired brain injury as they work towards their individual recovery goals. We are looking for volunteers to join us who can:-

  • Provide a warm welcome and an inclusive approach, and assist staff to deliver a changing programme of activities.
  • Provide a listening ear and work with us to maintain a safe environment that encourages our community to identify and work towards their own recovery goals
  • Provide connection and conversations to members of our community who are experiencing isolation and loneliness.

We greatly value a variety of transferable skills, to enhance our work with adult brain injury survivors.

  • Maybe you enjoy playing card games or board games
  • or perhaps helping someone cook a meal,
  • or make something in our woodwork room.
  • Or you enjoy creative art activities, music or gardening

Whatever your skills, we welcome people from all walks of life and can offer lots of opportunities for you to get involved. Whether you can spare a few hours a day, a week, we would love to hear from you.

Tailored induction programme and ongoing support from a friendly team

The Enablement Centre is open Monday - Friday 9.30am - 3pm.

Our Vision is:

To be recognised as the expert provider of support for people with an acquired brain injury and to continue to campaign to increase knowledge and awareness of the impact of acquired brain injury on individuals and those close to them.

To create an environment where people are ‘back on track in a way that is right for you’ and campaign to ask that people with an acquired brain injury are treated equally in society.
