Organisation: Hundred Heroines – The Only UK Charity Dedicated to Women in Photography
Are you an organised and proactive leader who loves working in an arts environment? Hundred Heroines is seeking an on-site Team Leader to coordinate volunteer activities at our gallery in Nailsworth Mills. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the day-to-day running of the gallery, help shape our on-site projects, and contribute to a growing charity that celebrates women in photography.
Role: Team Leader (On-Site)
Type: Volunteer
Commitment: Flexible hours, ideally 4-6 hours per week
Location: On-site at Nailsworth Mills, Gloucestershire
What will you do as a Team Leader?
- Lead and coordinate the on-site volunteer team during gallery opening hours (Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays).
- Manage gallery operations, ensuring smooth visitor engagement and supporting exhibitions, events, and activities.
- Organise volunteer schedules, assign tasks, and provide guidance and support to the team.
- Liaise with the Hundred Heroines management team, reporting updates on gallery operations and volunteer activities.
- Assist with training and onboarding new on-site volunteers.
- Ensure that the volunteers feel motivated, valued, and part of a supportive team.
What are we looking for?
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- A passion for art, photography, and gender equality.
- Experience managing or working with teams in a public-facing environment.
- Ability to multitask and solve problems efficiently.
- A positive, proactive attitude, with the ability to inspire and guide volunteers.
- Previous experience in gallery or event management is a plus, but not required.
