Position Overview
We are seeking compassionate individuals with lived experience of mental health challenges to join our team as Peer Support Workers. This is an exciting opportunity to use your personal experiences to support mental health and wellbeing initiatives across the South West.
About Ollies Random Acts of Kindness CIC
Ollies Random Acts of Kindness CIC is committed to improving mental health support through community engagement, professional training, and peer-led initiatives. We believe that lived experience is an invaluable resource that can transform how mental health support is delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide peer support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges
- Share your lived experience in a constructive and supportive manner
- Participate in training workshops for professionals to enhance their understanding of mental health support
- Contribute to educational initiatives about effectively utilizing lived experience in mental health services
- Support community events including quiz nights, music events, and festivals
- Engage with service users to promote wellbeing and recovery
- Work collaboratively with mental health professionals and other team members
Flexible Volunteering Opportunities
We understand that everyone's journey and capabilities are unique. We work with each volunteer to find a role that suits their interests, strengths, and comfort level. Opportunities include:
- Leading or co-facilitating peer support groups
- Speaking at professional training events
