The Marketplace Manager (Operations) is responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of the marketplace at Pride in Gloucestershire events. This role ensures that traders’ requirements are met and that all marketplace activities run smoothly and efficiently, providing an engaging experience for both traders and attendees.
Duties
- - Coordinate and manage all operational aspects of the marketplace, including trader setup, space allocation, and logistics.
- - Collaborate with the Head of Event Experience to align marketplace operations with event objectives.
- - Serve as the main point of contact for traders, addressing their requirements and concerns.
- - Ensure compliance with health, safety, and accessibility regulations within the marketplace.
- - Monitor and enforce marketplace rules and guidelines to maintain a fair and enjoyable environment.
- - Oversee the setup and teardown of marketplace areas in collaboration with the production team.
- - Handle administrative tasks related to trader registrations, permits, and payments.
- - Gather feedback from traders to evaluate the success of the marketplace and suggest improvements.
Qualities Needed
- - Strong commitment to the organisation, with excellent judgement and integrity.
- - Proven experience in event operations, marketplace management, or logistics coordination.
- - Strong organisational and problem-solving skills to manage complex operations.
- - Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with traders and the event team.
- - Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work under pressure during events.
- - Knowledge of health, safety, and accessibility standards in event planning.
- - A collaborative mindset and proactive approach to enhancing trader and attendee experiences.
General Requirements
- - Be available for approximately 10 hours per week, with additional time during events.
- - Be able to use Microsoft Teams and email communication effectively.
- - Act independently of any other interests and declare any conflict of interests.
- - Not have any convictions for fraud or dishonesty, never to have been made bankrupt, or disqualified from acting as a company director or charity trustee.
