Role Summary 

 

The Sound Technician is responsible for managing all sound-related aspects during Pride in Gloucestershire events. This role involves setting up, operating, and troubleshooting audio equipment to ensure high-quality sound delivery for performers and event activities. 

 

Duties 

 

  • - Set up and operate audio equipment, including microphones, mixers, and speakers, for events. 
  • - Perform sound checks to ensure optimal audio quality for performers and event activities. 
  • - Monitor and adjust sound levels during events to maintain clarity and balance. 
  • - Troubleshoot and resolve audio issues during events to minimise disruptions. 
  • - Collaborate with the Stage Manager and performers to meet specific sound requirements. 
  • - Assist with the teardown and storage of audio equipment after events. 
  • - Ensure all sound activities comply with health and safety regulations. 

 

Qualities Needed 

 

  • - Strong commitment to the organisation, with good judgement and integrity. 
  • - Proven experience in audio engineering, sound operation, or a related field. 
  • - Proficiency in operating and maintaining sound equipment. 
  • - Strong problem-solving skills to address technical issues quickly. 
  • - Excellent communication skills to collaborate with performers and the production team. 
  • - Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work under pressure during events. 
  • - Attention to detail to ensure high-quality sound delivery. 

 

General Requirements 

 

  • - Be available for approximately 2 hours per week, with additional time during events. 
  • - Be able to use Microsoft Teams and email communication effectively. 
  • - Act independently of any other interests and declare any conflict of interests. 
  • - Not have any convictions for fraud or dishonesty, never to have been made bankrupt, or disqualified from acting as a company director or charity trustee.

We hold an annual Pride event and Parade in Gloucester City where we invite our community and our allies to join us in celebration and reflection and a number of others events throughout the county.
