Main Duties and Responsibilities
Session Guides will lead groups of 5-8 school children or young people around our safety village, delivering key safety messages for nine different scenarios.
We operate Monday to Friday in school term time and run sessions at three different times;
Morning sessions 09:30-12:15
Afternoon sessions 12:30-15:15
Evening sessions 17:15-19:15
The number of sessions we run each day varies.
What can you expect from us?
No prior experience is necessary. We offer a range of training and support for our volunteers to help them in their role as a session guide.
Initially you will be given a volunteer induction to cover the main aspects of being a session guide and our safeguarding procedures.
We also run a range of optional training sessions throughout the year which cover topics such as Equality Diversity and Inclusion, Neurodiversity, County Lines, Hate Crime Awareness, Magistrates awareness, Gender and much more. These all add value to the delivery of the sessions here at SkillZONE.
