Summary

We are looking for motivated people to join our fundraising committee to help raise funds for a better future for animals.

Detailed description

Main purpose of job

To assist the fundraising team committee to plan and carry out fundraising events to raise awareness and funds for CDCH. The Committee organise their own events, such as quizzes and raffles and also attend community events, running CDCH stalls and dog shows.

We run our own open days at the centre, relying heavily on the help of our committee to bring the event together. If you love meeting people, you are passionate about animals and you have an expertise you think could be of use to our team then we would love to hear from you.

The post-holder will have a cheerful, confident, and friendly approach with good communication skills

Our Fundraising Committee volunteer will be happy:

· Working as part of a team & meeting new people

· Confident talking to members of the public about the charity

· Representing the charity and in agreement with our charity objectives

· Helping to prepare for a variety of events and collections

· Organising your own events and collections

· Helping to promote our work and events in the community

What kind of tasks will you be completing?

· Attending community events to run a CDCH stall, consisting of tombola, raffles, lucky dip etc.

· Helping to put up posters in local areas, to advertise upcoming events.

· Taking part in supermarket collections with buckets and tins.

· Completing hours in our Yate Pets at Home store, as part of our partnership.

Commitment

We hold meetings every 8 weeks at our centre at 6pm. We will provide support and training and help you settle into our fabulous team and you will have an induction at CDCH so you have a good understanding of the centre.

Although there won’t be any hands-on animal work, this is a key volunteer role at CDCH and our Fundraising Committee Supporters must share our love of animals.

Quote from an existing FC volunteer “I am passionate about animal welfare but I don’t think I could work closely with the animals as I would want to take them all home! The FC work is fun, they are a smashing group of people and it can be extremely rewarding”

About The Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home

At the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home we have been providing care and support to vulnerable animals in our community for over 80 years.

We work across Gloucestershire and support over 1000 animals each year living in our community.

We find wonderful families for pets who need a new home and provide access to veterinary treatment for pets living with financially vulnerable families through our subsidised veterinary clinics, ensuring no animal suffers because of cost.
