Summary
Café volunteer in the kitchen includes setting up the kitchen ready for the café, making and serving hot drinks/breakfast items (not cooking)Detailed description
The café and food pantry have many roles as a volunteer. The café runs every Monday 8.30am - 12.45 pm. You can do as many or as few hours that suit you, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, whatever suits you!
The kitchen volunteer would be responsible for setting the kitchen up ready for the café opening at 8:45 am (set up takes 15-20 mins). Set up includes, preparing the tables with sugar, jam, butter pots, cutlery, mugs ready for drinks, biscuits on plates, and jugs of milk. then preparing hot drinks and breakfast items such as cereals and toast - no cooking is involved at the moment.
During the session keep the kitchen clean, tidy and safe. Then at the end make sure everything is clean and put away as the building is used by others.
If this interests you but you aren't able to get there early to set up that's not a problem! You are welcome to come for a visit before hand and see how it all works!
