Summary
We are looking for volunteers to support adults with disabilities to access activities at the day service and smallholding.Detailed description
The Orchard Trust Day Services are looking for volunteers, with friendly attitudes, open minds, and a willingness to get stuck in! The role will be helping adults with learning disabilities on our therapeutic smallholding.
Your time will be spent assisting our trained team to deliver fun and meaningful activities. Helping our clients to learn through activities, have fun, socialise and actively participate and engage with the activities in a person centred manner.
The service runs different activities, to include gardening, animal care, pottery, arts, drama, music, cooking to name but a few! You don’t need any experience in any of these areas, but will need a caring, patient and can do attitude!
About The Orchard Trust
We believe that everyone can lead a fulfilling and fun life. We have cared for people with disabilities with warmth and compassion since 1989, supporting them to live the life they choose.
We look after ourselves, each other, our places and the environment. Through listening to each other and paying attention when someone has something they want to say we support the development of self respect and feelings of worth and appreciation. We recognise one another for the people we are, understanding and accepting preferences and beliefs to ensure a personalised care and support.
We value the vast range of experience, skill and knowledge our Volunteers bring to the Orchard Trust
They enrich the lives of the people we support in many ways, including assisting with activities, helping with access to the community and giving time on our smallholding and gardens.
