About Cotswold Boatmobility

Who are we?

Cotswold Boatmobility is a CIO dedicated to making boating accessible to people of all abilities, particularly those with mobility, mental health or learningchallenges. Based on the Stroudwater Canal near Stonehouse, we provide opportunities for everyone, regardless of physical limitations, to enjoy the peaceful experience of being on the water.
Our volunteers include, but are not exclusively, canoeists and boaters with a variety of backgrounds as members of the Inland Waterways Association, the Canal and River Trust, the Cotswold Canals Trust, the Cotswolds Canal Cruising Club and many other waterways interests.
In essence, Cotswold Boatmobility is all about breaking down barriers to enjoying time out on the water, creating inclusive experiences that are fun, and accessible to all. We have specially adapted boats and facilities that cater to people with disabilitiesof all kinds, enabling them to take part in an activity that might otherwise feel out of reach.

Where are we based and when do we go out?

We are based on the Stroudwater Canal at Ryeford (see map below for location, or search for Cotswold Boatmobility on Google maps.) We currently offer regular 2 hour long trips 3 times a week all through the year, as well as one-off trips for different groups particularly during the summer months.
